Travel Diaries - South Coast of NSW

Usually we follow the sun for our photoshoots and this season we made an exception and decided to travel South. We headed a couple of hours from Sydney to beautiful Gerringong and Gerroa on the South Coast of NSW for our Winter photoshoot. With a forecast for snow on the mountains we packed our Winter woolies as well as our layered boho looks for a few days in this very laid back beachside village. The stunning landscape and scenery of the South Coast is something that has to be seen to be believed and so accessible in our very own backyard. It wasn't quite bikini weather, but a Billabong Kinda Life none the less. Read on for our top tops in the area.

STAY

Soul of Gerringong:

We stayed at the most divine Air Bnb we have ever set foot in appropriately named Soul of Gerringong. It is a renovated farmers cottage from the 1800s and something you would kill to call your own. You can read more about this special place on a dedicated blog here.

Milkwood Barn:

We headed inland a little to get a taste of true country life to a town called Berry and stayed at a place called Milkwood Barn, the name paying homage to the original industry of the area. This place truly felt like a magical escape with the accommodation set in an open barn feel complete with a swimming pool, veggie patch, chicken coup, outdoor fire put, tree house and creek surrounded by trees and a sunny pasture.

DINE

Gerringong General Store + Deli was our go-to during our stay and we stopped by numerous times to for a fast and easy lunch when we were on the go! If you have the time, we highly recommend you sit down and enjoy a meal.

Milkwood Bakery in Berry is a true gem and offers the most divine organic sourdough bread, along with mouth-watering cakes, pastries and other savouries that are much needed weekend away treats!

The Hill Bar + Kitchen was where we spent our evenings, with a modern and sleek vibe, divine food, a great atmosphere and incredible views it is well worth a stop if you are visiting this neck of the woods. You can even order hampers to take on a picnic anywhere you please!

Zoobs Woodfired Pizza is a family owned business with recipes that have been handed down generations. They make their own dough daily and get all their produce from local growers and farmers, and it is just the best for a takeout on a cold Winter’s night!
