North Shore Food Truck Roundup

Years ago, you would have to drive to Haleiwa to grab a bite to eat at one of the few restaurants, not so anymore.  There are so many choices now from fresh fish, vegetarian to musubi and you can find delicious food from Haleiwa to Kahuku.  We did a roundup of some of our favourite food trucks on the North Shore to fit any kind of diet.

*Be aware that food trucks hours vary greatly, so be sure to check their IG or websites for hours.

Haleiwa

No. 7 Sushi Truck

If you are in the mood for some amazing, fresh sushi, this is your spot.  Hands down the best dish is their crispy spicy ahi-it’s a must if you eat here.

Surf n Salsa

Family owned and operated, this amazing Mexican Food truck is a must when you are in Haleiwa. Each meal is prepared from scratch, using the freshest ingredients they can find. They support local farmers, vendors and fisherman to provide our customers organic, local produce, fish and grass fed meats. They also have vegan and gluten free options.

Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck

You can't go to the North Shore and not eat at one of the many shrimp trucks.  Our fave and most iconic is Giovanni’s.  They have two locations on the North Shore-one in Haleiwa and one in Kahuku and a new location in town.  Make sure to either get teh shrimp scampi or garlic shrimp!

MusuBistro

If you want to eat like the locals, then musubi should be at the top of your list.  Enter MusuBistro, a super cute food truck near Lani’s surf break between Haleiwa and Waimea Bay. They have the classic spam musubi, but also super yummy ones like fish katsu musubi or fried chicken musubi.  The only downer is that they are only open Sat & Sun from 10-they sellout.

North Shore

Pupukea Grill

After snorkeling around Shark’s Cove, cross the street, to find Pupukea Grill, the perfect spot to fill up your tummy swimming around with the fishes. They have amazing poke bowls and sushi, but also have a large selection of Mexican food dishes as well.  This is one of the OG food trucks and it’s still around for good reason.

Elephant Shack Thai Food

If you are craving Thai food, The Elephant Shack is your spot, located near Sunset Beach (with another location in Kahuku and one in town), they serve home-grown Thai food using locally sourced ingredients from the North Shore.

Sunrise Shack

Started by a trio of really good looking pro surfers from Kauai, they have several locations on Oahu-2 of which are on the North Shore. One at Sharks Cove and one across from Sunset Beach. They have all kinds of smoothies and acai bowls, not to mention Bulletproof coffee to get you amped for a morning surf.

Ted’s Bakery

Ted’s is not a food truck, but it is a North Shore staple started back in 1996.  They have the best egg & cheese sandwiches that are perfect after a dawn patrol surf and chocolate haupia pie (IYKYK). Just past Sunset Beach before you reach V Land.

Kahuku

Kahuku Farms

If you love fresh, locally grown food, this is your spot.  Just past Turtle Bay but before Kahuku, is the farm to table food stop, whose slogan: Live Fresh, Love Local, Be Aloha says it all.  Get the half grilled veggie panini and side salad (served with homemade lilikoi balsamic dressing made using lilikoi grown on the farm) and finish off your meal with lilikoi or haupia sorbet served in a papaya.

Raised By Waves

While technically not a food truck, this is a must for anyone who is vegan or vegetarian.  Started by two good friends and surfers, they had a vision to bring a super yummy and healthy spot to the North Shore.  It’s an eco cafe serving a variety of nourishing, locally sourced plant-based goodness.  Located at the Kahuku Sugar Mill not too far from Turtle Bay Resort. Make sure to try the Whipped coffee (you can thank us later) and the single fin salad for a satisfying yet healthy meal. Everything is made fresh to order, so order online to save some wait time.
