10 things Steph Claire Smith does to achieve her goals every day…

We all know some days are better than others and on those days where the bed doesn’t get made  so you can easily crawl back into it at any point and you realise you haven’t showered, still have baby vomit on your clothes and can’t even bring yourself to open your emails then it’s okay to just survive and make it through the day. But on the days when you are really kicking butt, feel fresh and motivated and are ticking things off that list, those are the days we love. Read on for 10 things Steph Claire Smith likes to do in her day to make her feel good and help achieve those goals.

 

1. Move my body! Whether its a KIC workout, a KIC yoga flow, a short walk to the coffee shop or even just stretching - moving my body is incredibly important to me and I make time for it everyday. If I dont, I do not feel myself.

 

2. Start my day with a nutritious and filling breakfast. If I skip breakfast, or go for something processed over fresh, I feel sluggish very quickly in the day. My go tos are a smoothie called peanut butter smoothieand almond butter chia toastfrom the KIC app.

 

3. To-do lists! Especially now being a sleep deprived new mumma, the juggle is real and if I dont write it all out, I WILL forget things. 

 

4. Check in with mum. I call or text my mum pretty much daily. We talk about everything. Shes really good at calming me down when Im overwhelmed, shes a good problem solver and an incredible listener.

 

5. I have a quick scroll through our KIC Fb community. Being connected with our users is incredibly important to me. In that Fb group we get incredible feedback and an awesome insight into how our community are liking certain features or content in the app. But its also just filled with the most wholesome content that makes me feel incredibly proud of what we do at KIC.

 

 

 

6. Take my mornings slow with Harvey, particularly the mornings before I leave for work. I like to try and make sure each day I have some quality unplugged time with him.

 

7. Aim for the small wins and celebrate them. If Harvey has a good sleep, Im winning. If Harvey eats solids without getting them everywhere … winning. If I get through everything on my to-do list for the day, Im a bloody champion. If I dont celebrate the small wins I get caught up in the small hurdles and that never leaves me feeling that great.

 

8. I do something for someone else. Whether its simply making josh lunch, or a coffee, or giving Laura a hand with something - helping others makes me feel great.

 

9. Limit my time on social media. I have a time limit cap, and I used to just swipe it away and ignore it. But now (unless I need to use it for work) I do my best to listen to those restrictions Ive set myself and find something else to do off of my phone. 

 

10. I compliment myself. Could be out loud, could be in my head… but I like to say something nice to myself each day. I dont love everything about myself and my aim isnt to do so, as I know thats unrealistic… but I aim to appreciate myself and to work on my self confidence daily.
