BLISSFUL BATH SOAK

A little different to my usual food based nutrition recipes but just as important. Stress is a huge factor in our world today. We are so connected through social media and having the internet in our hands all the time, that we often struggle to switch off. Winding down at night and creating a bed time routine is critical to a good night sleep.

When we sleep the magic happens. Our body stores our memories from the day; it utilises the nutrients from the food we have eaten to fulfil our physiological needs, such as growing and repairing itself; your nervous system relaxesand cortisol lowers (very important!); your immune system works to fight inflammation or sickness.

As adults we tend to associate a bath with kids, but they are so therapeutic. A thirty minute soak with either of these bath soak recipes and you will be ready for a blissful night sleep. Both lavender and chamomile are known for their calming and restorative effects. So grab a good book and get ready!

Blissful Bath Soak

Ingredients – Lavender Soak

1 and ¼ cup Epsom salt

¼ cup Himalayan salt

¼ cup celtic sea salt

¼ cup lavender flowers

Ingredients – Chamomile Soak

1 and ¼ cup Epsom salt

¼ cup Himalayan salt

¼ cup celtic sea salt

¼ cup chamomile flowers

Directions

1. Combine all the ingredients from either soak in a jar and store until you’re ready to enjoy.
